Performing Arts

Performing Arts

The performing arts program at FCV includes band, orchestra, and vocal music. Each of the performing arts group has received local and state awards for their individual group performances.

Each group belongs to the Indiana Music Association and has distinguished themselves within this organization’s competition.

Jazz Band is another performance group that continues to perform at various school functions, both inside the Lawrence Community and across the state of Indiana; try- outs are held each year to become a member of this extracurricular activity.

Visual Arts

The FCV Visual Art program offers students a yearlong standards based integrated curriculum focusing on problem solving, higher order thinking, and Discipline Based Art Education (DBAE).  This includes art history, art criticism, art aesthetics, and art production.

Students in the art room will improve their scholastic abilities in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, architecture, fibers, mixed media and new media.  Students will master new skills, learn art vocabulary, practice critical thinking, and study a variety of artists and art movements throughout history
